Moses, Christine and Courtney are such amazing staff members. We bought the annual pass and we have definitely taken advantage of it. My husband and I have been coming here since the day Seaquest opened with our 5 month old son. This place is exactly your worst nightmare when you hear the words “mall aquarium”. I caught him and blocked him, but what if I couldn’t? What if some not so nice kids come in here? I fear for the well-being and safety of these animals. My son, who is conscious of animals and very gentle with them, almost squashed 3 parakeets when a flock took to the air and he was startled, causing him to try to jump down from his seat. No place to hide or escape from grabby kids. They ran in fear from children chasing them to pet them. My son asked “why are there cats at an aquarium?” I had the same question. I began to fear for the animals wellbeing while walking around the concrete zoo filled with unnatural and non stimulating habitats. This quickly opened my eyes to what was really happening here and immediately I was deeply saddened. We fed him and once we did he went to settle under a heat lamp. Our first stop at the iguana habitat greeted us with a family feeding a group of content iguanas under heat lamps, with one frantic guy climbing the walls trying to run. Though my four year old did enjoy touching the animals gently and feeding them, it is clear to see they are underfed as to help encourage them to approach guests (for food).
